Will the Tekonsha Prodigy RF # TK94FR Trailer Brake Controller Work on a 2007 BMW X3
Question:
Im having difficulty finding a brake controller installation for my 2007 BMW X3 due to the complexity of the BMW wiring and electronics. The car has an OEM hitch, OEM wiring harness and 7 wire plug. Will the Tekonsha Prodigy RF 90250 work with the BMW X3 without problems? Thanks,

For your 2007 BMW X3, the Tekonsha Prodigy RF, # TK94FR, would be a great choice because it does not involve taping into the vehicle wiring. Instead, this unit plugs into the 7-Way trailer connector and your trailer connector would then plug into the RF.
It uses the power provided from the 7-Way to apply the electric trailer brakes. It has a built-in accelerometer that senses how hard or soft the vehicle is braking and applies the trailer brakes accordingly. The hand-held module that goes along with you in the cab of the vehicle plugs into a cigarette lighter or auxiliary power port socket and is only used to adjust the braking settings on the RF or to apply the brake manually. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference.
If you have a second tow vehicle that will tow the same trailer, you also have the option of getting a second hand-held unit and keeping one in each vehicle. It is part # TK27FR.
