Does the Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller Need the Brake Circuit on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
Hyundai Santa Fe 2017 SE, factory tow package Hi, I have the hitch installed and the 4 pin connector and now I am looking to install the 7 pin connector and wireless brake controller. Id like to know when installing the 7 pin connector if I only have to run the 12v hot wire or do I have to do anything with the blue wire break controller ? thanks

The Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller # TK94FR does not need the brake circuit to be active. It uses the 12 volt pin on the 7-way trailer connector for power.
You can use a 4-way to 7-way adapter like # 37185 and connect the black wire to the Santa Fe's battery with a 40 amp circuit breaker # 9510. Use 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot. You can then just cap off the other unused wires.
If you want the 7-way to be fully fucntioning the best option is to use our # ETBC7 kit.
