Wiring a Brake Controller Power Wire to the Battery on a 2011 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I am installing a PRODIGY Brake Controller using Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit on a 2011 Highlander. Where do I go through the firewall with the power for the controller?

You will need to find a rubber grommet on the firewall of your 2011 Toyota Highlander to feed the power wire through.

You will want to remove the grommet and cut a slit in the grommet to feed the wire through. After feeding the wire through you will want to reinstall the grommet and use some silicone to reseal the cut you made. After running the power wire through the firewall, you will connect the wire to a 30 amp circuit breaker which is included in part # ETBC7, and then connect to positive battery terminal.

If you cannot find a rubber grommet, you can feed the wire through where existing wires and passing through the firewall. If you choose to go this route, you will want to be careful not to damage any of the existing wires.

I have linked instructions for the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7, that may be of good reference.
