Will the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Allow the Tailgate on a 2013 Ford F-150 to Open

Question:

Can I fully open the tailgate with this hitch in fold down position. In your video for the XTC-2 you showed that I could but I would prefer the Chinook if the tailgate could be ped.

With the Swagman Chinook 2-Bike Rack, # S64683, unloaded and folded down, you will be able to open the tailgate on the 2013 Ford F-150. However, you will not be able to open tailgate fully with the rack loaded and in the tilted position.

If you are looking to have access to the tailgate with bike loaded on the rack, then your best option would be to use a swinging bike rack like the RockyMounts BackStage 2 bike Platform Rack, # RKY10002. This rack fits the 2 inch receiver hitch on your 2013 F-150, and uses a swing-a-way frame that will allow you to access the tailgate of your truck with the bikes still loaded on the rack.
