Recommendation to Install 5 Pole Connector on 2017 Mazda CX-9
Question:
Do you have a 5 prong wiring harness for a 2017 Mazda CX9

If your 2017 Mazda CX-9 already has a 4-Way connector installed, I recommend using the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036. This will easily change the 4 pole flat on the vehicle to a 5 pole flat. The additional blue wire will simply get spliced into the reverse light wire on the CX-9 with the included quick splice connector. You can use a circuit tester like # 3808 to determine which wire is the reverse wire on your vehicle.
If you do not have a 4-Way already installed on the vehicle and it has the factory tow package, you will want to use the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness # 118278. This T-One connector will plug directly into the OEM parts behind the passenger side trim panel to provide a 4-Way connector. You will then use the above adapter to convert it to the needed 5-Way.
If your vehicle does not have the factory tow package, you will instead need the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59236. This is a universal, hardwire kit that will allow you to install the 4-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle.
I have attached the installation details on these products and a couple of wiring articles that you might find helpful.
