Will Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket Fit 2016 Subaru Forester

Hi, I am looking at the Rhino-Rack XTray Large RMCB02 for my 2016 Subaru Forester. Your site says it is compatible, but the Rhino-Rack website http://www.rhinorack.com/ says it is not compatible. Do you know why the difference? Thanks in advance

Roof mounted cargo baskets like the Rhino-Rack # RMCB02 referenced in your question are universal-fit products that are designed to fit most vehicles. There is not a specific vehicle fit-guide as it related to cargo baskets. When looking at possible compatibility issues with a cargo basket and other roof-mounted accessories, you will want to look at the particular roof rack that is installed on the vehicle.

The Rhino-Rack Cargo Basket will work on round, square, aero, elliptical and most factory crossbars. The brackets will fit onto crossbars that are up to 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-1/4 inches tall. The crossbar spread (measurement from crossbar to crossbar) will just need to be between 25-1/2 inches and 43 inches.

If you do not yet have a roof rack installed on your 2016 Subaru Forester and the roof has factory installed rails that run front to back, I recommend the Rhino Rack Vortex Roof Rack. This will consist of # RRVA126B-2 for the two 49 inch Vortex Crossbars and # RRSX100for the SX Series Legs.

If your Forester has a naked roof (no existing rails or crossbars), I instead recommend the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack, which consists of # Y00425 for the crossbars, # Y53TR for the SkyLine Towers and # Y00233 for the Landing Pads.

The Rhino-Rack Cargo Basket will be compatible with either of these roof rack systems. I have included demonstration videos on the products mentioned for you to check out.
