Weight Distribution System for A 2006 Cadillac Escalade Towing a 7000 lb Carmate Trailer
Question:
correct weight distribution hitch for a 2006 cadillac esclade ESV all wheel drive towing a carmate trailer rated at 7000 lbs
asked by: George L
Expert Reply:
Weight distribution systems are selected according to the tongue weight of the trailer being towed. For a 7000 lb capacity Carmate trailer your tongue weight fully loaded and ready to tow should be somewhere between 700 and 850 lbs. A weight distribution system with a tongue weight capacity between 600 and 1,200 lbs like the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System, item # BXW1000, or the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, item # RP66084, would be the proper choice for a system with sway control included.
You will also need to check the hitch and your Escalade to be sure that they rated for use of weight distribution and towing a trailer rated for 7,000 pounds.
