7-Way or 4-Way Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Question:

Hi, I have a question. I have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. Already have a towing hitch but no trailer plugs. I would like to buy the wiring harness for my truck but after seeing many videos, I feel lost. Not sure if I need a 4 pole flat connector or a 7 way connector, maybe both. Can you tell me exactly what I need? Thank you

The style of trailer wiring you need will be based on the trailer you plan to tow. If it has a 4-way you'd need a 4-way harness part # 118670, or if it has a 7-way you'd need the part # 118273.

In most cases if the trailer is smaller and doesn't have brakes what you'd need is a 4-way. Or if the trailer is larger and with brakes you'd need a 7-way.
