Question:
When I plug in my 7 way plug from my trailer to my truck the right tail lite stays on even when key is of all lite switches are off. Lite is bright. No turn or brake lite on that side. I have eliminated the trailer. Its not the problem..The dealer tells me its my fuse box. $624.00. I dont trust them. Any ideas please...

Your generation of Dodge truck used a very bizzare trailer wiring setup. It has a TIPM which manages the trailer wiring. If it shorts out you can only reset it so many times (at a crazy price) until you have to just buy a new one. It's a God-awful setup if you ask me, but we do have a solution that allows you to bypass that if you are okay with a little bit of wiring.
The best way around the TIPM is to bypass it all together with the trailer wiring. For that you can use the wiring harness part # 119178KIT for a 4-way, and then for converting the 4-way to a 7-way you would want to use part # 37185 for if you don't have a brake controller and part # ETBC7 for if you do.
I attached installation instructions and videos for you to check out as well.
