Attaching the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar to MX Base Plates on a 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I have a 2008 Jeep that I purchased, that already has a base plate mounting kit installed on the Jeep, and also has removable arms. Unknown the manufacturer of the base plate kit and the two removable arms. I have purchased a Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar, that came with a quick disconnect base bar. The problem I have, is that the Falcon 2 quick disconnect base bars mounting holes are much wider apart than the distance between the two base plate removable arms that came with the Jeep. Rather than worry about mounting the Falcon 2 quick disconnect bar to the removable arms, then attaching the Falcon 2 arms to the quick disconnect bar, I would like to just purchase a set of removable arms for the Jeep, that will allow a direct connection to the Falcon 2 arms with just a safety pin. Is part number # C001477 the correct part for doing this, i.e, the gap in the end of the replacement ment arm is wide enough to the end of the Falcon 2 Tow Arm, then run a safety pin thru it?? See attached pictures showing the Jeep and the Falcon 2 quick disconnect bar.

It looks like you have Roadmaster MX style base plates on your 2008 Jeep Wrangler. For the MX base plates you would not use the crossbar that came with the Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520. Instead the tow bar arms will attach directly to the draw bar arms.

I cannot guarantee that what you describe will work or be safe and it will void the warranty on the tow bar so I do not recommend it.
