Replacement Trailer Tire Recommendation for Trailer with P223/75R15

Question:

I was reading another post about P223/75R15 tires which I have in my 2 horse Bison trailer double axle. These tires have a 105s next to the P223/75R15 which I understand is for load weight. The tires are cracking so I need to replace. These tires seem to come from the manufacturer since the spare in the tack room has never been used, my question is why did the manufacturer use a passenger tire and not an ST- trailer tire, and should I go to a ST rated tire?

You should never run a P rated tire on a trailer. Whoever installed those tires on your trailer did so hopefully by mistake as that's not safe at all.

A great tire to use as a replacement would be the part # TTWTRTM2257515D which is an ST225/75R15 that would fit and work well. It also has a higher speed rating at 81 mph compared to most trailer tires that are only rated for 65.
