Where to Mount and Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2004 Ford E-350

Question:

2004 Ford Econoline E350 van with no trailer tow package. The driver compartment leaves very little room for mounting. The perfect place would be on the bottom of the shelf under the CB radio as can be seen in the photo. The 91805 instructions say do not mount closer than 12inch to RF source. What happens if I do? I rarely use the CB and when I do its just to listen and almost never to transmit. Second question: Do you know if and where a plug would be located in the vehicle wiring for the controller? Driver kick panel, under dash? Even without the tow package? Thanks You!

The only way I could recommend you mount the controller near the CB would be if you never planned on having the CB powered on when you were towing. Otherwise you would have to mount it lower like below the dash like you see for most controllers.

We actually installed the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 in a 2004 Ford Van just like yours. I attached an install video that shows the # ETBC7 kit converting a 4-way to a 7-way as well as the # 3035-P to power the controller. In the video you will see exactly how to mount and wire up the controller.
