Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 2006 Lexus IS350 with Curt Hitch Installed
Question:
Hello, I was wondering if you happen to know if a Yakima Dr.Tray 1 1/4 will work on the Curt hitch Item # C11372 on a 2006 Lexus IS350. Is there any clearance issues with the bumper in the closed position or ground clearance that you may know of? Also, I was wondering if the hitch is long enough to accommodate the internal locking system located at the end of the shank of the bike rack since the pin does not go through the bike rack but seems to just keep it in place. I assume it does since the hitch looks standard and the shank on the rack does not seem to be too long. I am unsure of the fit of the bike rack and hitch since I do not have the hitch yet and plan to purchase one if it works. Thank you for all the help.

I have a similar bike rack that will work well for you, but the Dr. Tray part # Y02474 that you referenced will only fit Class II 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches and the Curt hitch part # C11372 is a Class I hitch.
Instead, check out the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU74FR as it is a similar platform bike rack that hold your bikes by the wheels, is confirmed to fit your class I hitch, and can carry up to two 40 lb bikes.
This also has plenty of clearance to get past the rear bumper of the vehicle, so you will have no problems folding it up for storage when not loaded.
