Connecting a Trailer with a 4-Way Connector to a Tow Vehicle with a 7-Way Connector

Question:

I need a trailer adapter. The vehicle wiring has a 7-way spade type male. Trailer is regular 4 way flat. I bouoght one from U-Haul but it has to be mounted and such. I cannot find one on your website for the 7 way they all look female and different from mine. This is an old 2001 Yukon. I can email picture. Thanks

What you need is a 7-way to 4-way trailer adapter like # PK12716. It'll convert the 7-way on your tow vehicle to a 4-way so you can plug in your trailer.

Another option is to cut off the 4-way on the trailer and install a 7-way like # H20046. You won't need to use the 3 extra wires but you'll be able to connect to your tow vehicle and not have to worry about an adapter.
