Recommended Brake Controller And Wiring Harness For 2015 Ford F-150
Question:
I am looking at the P3 brake controller for my 2015 F150. I was originally going to get the factory unit from Ford until they told me it would be 130.00 to basically program the truck to see the controller. Does this also need to be done if I purchase the P3 unit?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is my personal favorite brake controller. It does not need anything from your Ford F-150 other than the wires which are already run. In fact, it uses the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ford F-150 # 22292 to simply plug and play with the harness beneath your vehicle's dash. You will not need to have the dealership flash your computer for this installation.
The P3 is a proportional brake controller that will give you the trailer braking function at the same time and at the same amount of pressure you hit the brake pedal in your truck. It has a really nice and easy to understand LCD screen that take code deciphering out of the equation. I've attached a video that walks you through many of the great functions of this controller.
