Swivel Jack with Wheel for a Boat Trailer with Swing-Away Tongue

Question:

I have a 22ft Pioneer center console boat with a swing tongue trailer. The jack has a foot, no wheel, and does not swivel. It is getting hard to crank and I need to replace it and need advice. I would like a jack with a wheel to allow me to push it, but I am not sure f I have room for a swivel or not. Can I send some pictures and measurements so you can give me a suggestion?

To pick out the best jack for your application you will definitely want to find out what the Tongue Weight (TW) of your trailer is when your boat is loaded on it. You can find this using a tongue weight scale like # e99044 or the method of using a bathroom scale which you can check out in the attached article on TW.

We do have a Swing-Up option for a jack that has a wheel. The Fulton F2 # F1413040134 uses a bolt-on installation like your current jack and has a TW rating of 1,600 lbs. To make sure that your jack lasts a long time I recommend getting a jack that is rated for about twice as much as your TW. This jack will fit trailers with 3" x 3" or 3" x 4" tongues.

If you need a jack with a TW that has a slightly higher weight capacity I recommend using the Fulton F2 # F1413230134 which comes with a foot plate instead of a wheel. This jack is rated for 2,000 lbs of TW. This jack fits 4" x 5" frames.

If neither of these jacks will fit your trailer frame or are not rated for high enough TW please let me know and I will be happy to help you find a jack that will be the best choice for you. Since you have limited space on the inside, these jacks will most likely need to be installed on the outside part of your frame.
