7-Way Recommendation for 2017 Ford Explorer with Round Connector at Rear
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford Explorer Base model. I purchased the recommended hitch from here and it works great. The wiring harness does not work for the base model. Instead of having a connection to separate and plug in the harness, my vehicle has one bundle of wires hanging down with a capped connector. What wiring harness would I need for this?

Based on what you described it sounds like you have a round connector at the rear of your 2017 Ford Explorer that a harness part # HM40975 would plug into. If the round connector matches what you see in the attached picture this is the correct harness you'd need.
