Tallest Gooseneck Hitch Ball Option for a 2017 Ford F-350 with OEM Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
got a new 2017 F350 with a factory gooseneck in the bed. Hooking to a 2018 Alpine 3900 via a Reese Goosebox hitch. The clearance between the bed and the fifth wheel is just about 5 inches assuming the air ride bag is maintained. I see that Curt manufactures a 2-5/16 ball for the OEM underbed hitch but it is the same size as the factory. Is anyone making a taller ball which would give me a little more clearance between the trk bed and the fifthwheel trailer. The hitch is as far down the bolt holes in the pin box will allow and still maintain the 8 bolt configuration. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The tallest hitch ball that will fit in the OEM gooseneck hitch on your 2017 Ford F-350 is the Curt Hitch Ball # C60629 which has a measurement of 5-1/8 inches from the top of the shank to the top of the hitch ball itself. This comes in the Kit # C60692.
If your pin box is sitting slightly above 5 inches then you should be good to go as we recommend a height of 5-6 inches between your bed railing and the pin box. However, if it is slightly lower then you will need to change your towing setup.
Let me know where that measurement lies and I can make some recommendations if need be.
