Will The Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier Part # UF48-979033 Clear The Spare Tire On A Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I recently purchased #MT70101 Max Tow MaxxHaul Motorcycle Carrier for a Honda CRF150FH Dirt Bike. I have attached photos. The anti racket device does not fit. Should I purchase #Anti-Tilt-REV & will that help stabilize the carrier.

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the rear spare tire will vary depending on the hitch receiver installed. Assuming you have a stock tire and wheel size, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost portion of the spare tire is 11" while using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13432.

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier part # UF48-979033 is 5" therefore, none of these hitch receivers will allow you to mount this dirt bike carrier without removal of the spare tire.

However, the Maxxtow Motorcycle Carrier part # MT70101 will work as long as you abide by the weight limitations as the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier is 12-1/2".

In order to secure the dirt bike to the carrier, you will also need a set of straps such as the ProGrip Cam Buckle Straps part # 317-412080.

I have attached a review for each of these products for you.

Due to the various types of hitch receiver and clearance issues that are associated with each vehicle install, the included anti-rattle device is not always an exact fit. I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # 63232 as this hitch pin will install inside the shank holding the carrier to the hitch in addition to having both locking and anti-rattle capabilities. I have included a video review of this product for you.
