Recommendation on Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Lexus GX 460
Question:
Hello, I have a 14 Lexus GX 460 and need to get a hitch. I want to pull an enclosed 6x12 trailer and wondering do I need a full hitch? The kind that bolts to the frame with the tubes or can I buy one of the smaller square ones? This Curt model C13043 Thank you

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13043, is the confirmed trailer hitch to fit your 2014 Lexus GX 460.
The Curt hitch mounts up under the Lexus' bumper and attached to the frame of the vehicle. This hitch has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and can carry a max of 500 lbs tongue weight. However, always check with your owner's manual on what the towing and tongue weight limits will be on your Lexus before towing any trailer.
I also recommend a vehicle wiring harness, # HM11141920, if you already do not have on installed on your vehicle. This connecter will install using factory plugs and will allow you to plug a trailer 4-way connector to your vehicle to run your trailer lights.
I also recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
