Parts Needed to Add 7-Way to 2009 Ford Expedition and Install Brake Controller

Question:

I need to install a 7 pin connector on my 2009 Ford Expedition. I need Brake control, Reverse, and 12V all functioning. Your products say they connect directly, but all I have is the 4 pin in the back. The round connector is not there. Could it be under the spare wheel? Are will I have to wire into the main harness? Do you have the list of wires I need to splice into? I need help

For your setup what you would need to install a brake controller and have a fully functional 7-way is the brake controller install harness part # ETBC7. This comes with a 4-way to 7-way adapter and all of the wiring needed to install the controller.

To complete the 12 volt power circuit you will need 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 with a circuit breaker part # 9510 to run the wire to the positive terminal of the battery.

The reverse light circuit would get completed by tapping into the reverse light circuit of the vehicle.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
