Weight and Height of Demco 18K Hijacker # DM8550024

Hello, Through reading various responses already written I see the Demco Hijacker autoslide DM8550024 seems to fit my needs. There are many threads mentioning this as a heavy hitch - with no reference to actual weight # or if it comes in/out in a few pieces to make it manageable. Other question would be installed height in the box I have the puck system on a 2015 F350 with no spray liner - have length and width figured out... wondering if I can get my tonneau cover closed when not in use.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550024 referenced in your question, which is confirmed to fit your 2015 Ford F-350 with the factory rail kit, has a total weight of 289 pounds. The hitch head can be removed, which has a weight of 65 pounds. You will need two people to remove or install the hitch.

The Demco Hijacker has 3 possible hitch height settings, which are measured from truck bed floor to the top of the hitch head. It can be set at 15-1/2 inches, 16-3/4 inches or 18-1/4 inches.

This is a great sliding fifth wheel hitch that has a towing capacity of 18,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 4,500 pounds. The great feature of the Demco Hijacker is the automatic slider that will provide clearance for slow speed turns without needing to get out of the truck in order to operate a manual slider. If you do not have one already, I also recommend adding a 5th-Wheel Wiring Harness like the Demco # DM8555002. This will provide a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck for easy hookup with your trailer.
