Recommended Wiring for 2013 Kia Sorento LX with 4 Cylinder Engine
Question:
I am looking for a towing package for a 2013 Kia Sorento LX base model, 4 cylinder engine. There is a wiring kit on your web site, but it only shows it fitting the 6 cylinder LX, will it fit the 4 cylinder?

If your 4 cylinder 2013 Kia Sorento LX does not have the factory tow package, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118506. This is confirmed to work with your vehicle and will allow you to install a 4-way connector needed to power your trailer's signal lights. The plug-in locations for installation are behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. I have attached the installation details for you to check out.
If you do not yet have a trailer hitch installed on your Kia Sorento, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75684. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening that will provide a 3,500 pound towing weight capacity. I also recommend checking the weight capacity of your vehicle, as this may be the limiting factor. I have attached an installation video on your vehicle for you to look at.
Then for a ball mount, I recommend looking at the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC2 that has a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop. If the rise or drop on this ball mount is not sufficient to tow your trailer level, I have attached an article that will help you determine the rise or drop needed as well as a link that will take you to our available selection.
