Installing 7-Way Trailer Wiring Harness On 2015 Toyota Corolla To Match Trailer Connector
Question:
I am looking for a wiring harness for my 2015 Toyota Corolla sedan, that can be compatible to connect to a BRILITE flat 7 pin connector that is fitted to our trailers. I have looked at kits that are available for this car but the plug that attaches the trailer is not compatible and appear to be quite a different concept . Can you assist in any way? -

You said you have a flat pin 7-way connector on your trailer. If the trailer has a round connector that has flat pins it is probably because the trailer has brakes.
For your 2015 Corolla you would first need a 4-way connector and then a 7-way. The 4-way wiring harness I recommend is the T-One # 118405. This connector attaches to the vehicle wiring behind the driver and passenger side tail lights in the rear cargo area. You will need to remove some carpeting or interior trim to access the connection points. You will then need to ruin the hot lead wire to the positive battery post.
For a 7-way trailer connector you will need part # ETBC7. This connects to the 4-way and with additional wiring gives you a working 4-way and 7-way trailer connector. typically a 7-way is needed because the trailer has brakes. If that is the case you will need a brake controller like part # 90885. This is our most popular because it is easy to setup and operate. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when installing a brake controller and the # ETBC7.
