Troubleshooting a Non-Operating Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on a 2012 Toyota Sequoia
Question:
I just purchased a PIII controller. I installed it with the quick connect I purchased from you in my 2012 Toyota Sequoia. Nothing comes on the brake controller. No lights or anything any pointers? Thank you for your help

Sounds like there may be a connection that may not have been completed.
On the 2012 Toyota Sequoia, the brake controller plug-in wiring adapter, # 3040-P, does have an extra ground wire that needs to be attached to an area of the vehicle that is clean and free of dirt and paint when installed. If by chance this ground is not installed correctly, the controller will not operate.
Another place to check will be at the fuse box. The fuse box located under the hood, check slot 16, there should be a 30 amp fuse for a trailer brake controller. Check to see if there is a fuse installed and if there is check to make sure that this fuse is not blown.
Finally, if all connections are complete and the fuse is ok, there may be an issue with the Prodigy P3 Controller, # 90195, and you my need a new brake controller. The linked article will give you more information on troubleshooting during a brake controller installation.
