Any Issues Installing a 5th Wheel Hitch on a l2002 Ford F-250 with a Suspension Lift

Question:

Can my 2002 Ford F-250, Extended Cab, 6foot 10inch bed, 6foot 5inch All-Leaf suspension lifted truck pull an average gooseneck without interference? I think I will be fine as far as the height of the average gooseneck but I just want to make sure that I am not going to need any additional attachments. I have already bought the rails. Im just waiting on the rails and hitch to come in. That should be all I need. I plan too get a Reese approved installer too install it in my truck. An answer to my question and any additional suggestions/information would be very helpful. This is my first gooseneck hitch. Thanks

Before deciding on a 5th wheel hitch for your F-250, knowing how much clearance between the top of the bed rails and the bottom of the trailer is needed. It is recommended a minimum distance of 6 inches between the top of the rails to the bottom of the trailer.

With the height of your 2002 Ford F-250, I recommend you measure for the height of your truck and 5th wheel trailer to make sure you will have the correct amount of clearance needed in towing a 5th wheel trailer. I have attached a diagram that shows where to measure on both truck and trailer.

If you find that you are under the minimum 6 inches, then there are some things that can be done to help achieve the correct clearance. If applicable, you could lower the pin box on the trailer to raise the clearance between trailer and truck. Also deciding on a 5th wheel hitch with an adjustable hitch height will help.
