The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # TK94FR will work great for your wedge type car trailer. It has internal inertia sensors to assist with the braking control. You will still have all of the manual override functions and the diagnostic info with the remote that plugs into any 12V power supply. This system requires a 7-way trailer connection to be present for the trailer light functions and the 12V power, but it does not need the brake controller power wire.

For your Volvo tractor, you will need to determine the lighting functions on your tractor side. For this I recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. It will work to capture your signals and has worked well with other tractors. If you want to hardwire your trailer connections, I recommend the Tekonsha Upgraded Modulite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with 4 Pole Trailer Connector (Includes Install Kit) # C59496.

This will give you the 4-way and then I recommend the # ETBC7 to give you the 4-way connection and the wiring for a 12V power and solid ground wire. This will give you the functionality you need for your tractor to connect with your car hauler using this RF Brake Controller.

You mentioned multiple tractors, and each would need the 7-way connection to use this brake controller system.
