Do you have a weight distribution hitch with sway for 450lb. tongue weight

Expert Reply:

If the loaded tongue weight of your trailer is 450 pounds, I recommend looking at the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37060ET. This system has a tongue weight capacity of 200 to 600 pounds, so it will be perfect. Just keep in mind that the total tongue weight of your setup will include both the loaded tongue weight of your trailer, as if it is ready to head out on a trip, along with any added cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.

I recommend using a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 to verify your trailer's loaded tongue weight.

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System will evenly distribute weight over the axles of your tow vehicle and trailer for added stability and control. It features integrated 4-Point Sway Control that will limit side-to-side movement and minimize sway caused by winds or curvy roads. Both the adjustable shank and 2 inch chrome hitch ball are included.

I have attached a video demonstration on this system as well as an article on weight distribution systems that you may find helpful.

For your 2013 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98850. For your wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha # 118496 which will give you a 4-way and then using # ETBC7. Then you will need a brake controller and I recommend the RedArc Tow Pro Elite # 331-EBRH-ACCV2. For a ball mount, I recommend the kit # 989900 so you can tow level. This combination of parts will give you everything you need to tow your R-Pod 180.
