Video Transcript for Review of Durabilt Chain Hoist - Half Ton 10 Foot Lever Hoist - DU48MR

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Durabilt 1/2 ton lever hoist. This is gonna make it much easier for you to move your heavy loads, whether you need to lift them up off the ground or just move them across the floor. This does have the roller guide system. It's going to allow this to work vertically or horizontally. So whether you're lifting or just pulling, this is gonna be a great option for you to lift or pull up to half a ton.

So, this does have a durable steel construction with a powder coat finish to help resist corrosion. You're gonna get 10 feet of this grade 80 heat treated alloyed chain. So, all of this is gonna be very durable. It's gonna give us that safe working load limit of 1,100 pounds or about half a ton. This does have a mechanical brake.

So it is going to make sure that our chain is going to stop where we want it to. It's gonna hold the weight of our load. We do have this lever here that will allow us to retract. When we have it in this position, it will allow us to retract or lift up our load, kind of a ratcheting handle. This lever is about 6 and 5/16 of an inch long, so plenty to hold on to.

It's got a rubber grip here, so it's very easy to hold and turn. We also have the opposite, which is going to allow us to lower our load. And then we have the free-chaining feature. So we turn that to the middle. That's going to allow us to quickly pull in our slack so that we can get things set up where we need them, and then switch it into either one of those, whether pulling or letting loose.

We do have hooks at the top that hold our hoist in place. It's got a snap closure there to make sure that it's gonna stay in place. And then on the other end of the chain, we do also have a matching hook that syncs that closure, both these hooks do pivot or rotate 360 degrees. Our hook throat opening here is about 13/16 of an inch. And these hooks are designed to bend slowly if they are overloaded. So rather than just getting up, they are going to start bending. So you keep an eye on it. You'll know that the system needs to be let loose because you're over overtaxing or going over the max load limit. So when we have this fully retracted, just pull this in here. The distance between our hooks, it's gonna be about 8 and 9/16 of an inch, so that's gonna be your shortest distance this is capable of. And this only weighs about a little over 8 and 1/2 pounds, so it is gonna be very portable. You can take this from one job site to the next. They do include this carrying case that will allow you to store all of this in place. It makes it easier to transport. It does have this belt loop on here. Now, I can't personally see myself attaching this to my belt, but that could be used to attach this to your job site, how to keep it, give it a storage place. It does have this zippered pocket here on the top. So if you are gonna be transporting this, it is nice to have this option to make it a little bit safer. It's kind of padded, helps keep the chain altogether and that sort of thing. So if you are gonna be moving from one place to another, very easy to do. This does meet the OSHA standards as well as the ANSI and ASME B30.21 and B30.10 standards. So you can trust, this is gonna do a good job for you. Allowing you to pull in that heavy load, again, whether vertically or horizontally. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

The Durabilt Lever Hoist is a great product. We use it to take our 5th wheel hitch out of the bed of our truck when we are not Rving. So easy to remove and then reinstall in our truck bed. Saves your back and all the unnecessary lifting. Can be used for other lifting and moving items. Highly recommend.
