Is Rear View Safety Wireless Side Camera Waterproof, Installation, and Can Signal Booster be Used

Question:

1 Is the wireless transmitter and antennae water proof? I want to mount on the external part of the trailer so it will be exposed to the elements. 2 How does the wireless transmitter and antennae mount to the vehicle? In my case a travel trailer. Is it stick on double sided tape or screws, etc?? Which 3 Can you use an antenna booster with the wireless transmitter?

I did a little digging and found that the Rear View Safety Wireless Side Camera # RVS-775W as a whole carries an IP68 rating. The 6 indicates that it is dust tight meaning dust cannot get in. The 8 indicates continuous immersion in water at a depth of 1 to 3 meters for a given amount of time. So what all that means is that rain or washing the RV will not cause water to get inside the unit and it will function properly. Unless the camera is submerged deep under water and/or underwater for extended periods of time it will remain waterproof.

You would use screws to attach the camera to your trailer. The type of screws will depend on the material you are attaching the camera to. I recommend using silicone such as # LT37464 to seal up the holes.

While there is nothing that says you can't use a signal booster there isn't one specifically designed for this side camera.
