Will Curt Trailer Hitch # 13051 Fit a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Question:
I just want to double check with the experts to make sure this hitch # 13051 Curt will fit my jeep? I have added this one to my shopping cart and a wireing harness and a front hitch. With the front hitch, can I use the front one to tow the jeep behind my rv? Or is the front hitch not designed for that and it a bad idea? If I can tow the jeep with the front hitch, this would save me a lot of money! Thanks for your time and help!

The Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13051, will fit the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The only tech tip note I have is that the tow hooks, if present, will need to be removed for hitch installation. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference.
A front mount trailer hitch should not be used to flat tow the vehicle behind an RV. As you have stated, the hitch is not designed for this purpose. Instead, you would need to install base plates and use a tow bar to flat tow the vehicle. For base plates, you would need XL plates, # 1425-1. For a tow bar, I recommend the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520.
You would also need safety cables, wiring or a light kit, and a supplemental braking system for a complete flat towing set up.
