Recommended Roof Bag for 2015 Toyota Highlander

Hi All, Can you help me with a recommendation? We have a 2015 Highlander already with roof rack rails. I need a soft cargo bag to add to the top for a july summer trip. Im guessing bigger is better since we are picking up kids from camp with all their duffle bags and junk. Whats difference b/w rainproof and weatherproof? Which of the larger bags would you recommend? with those, do I need an additional pad to go under the bag? do I need to by a special lock for it? We have a hitch but it will be occupied with the bike rack you sold us a few years back. Thanks

I personally like the Rightline Sport Cargo Bag # RL100S30. I have personal experience with another of their products and can't be happier with it.

The roof bag can be attached to raised rails, a roof rack, cargo basket, or even used on a naked roof. In your case you'll use the 4 straps to connect it to your factory rails. It doesn't include a lock but one can be added using the cable lock # RL100640. Also, a pad for your Highlander isn't required but since the bag is going to be sitting on its roof I recommend one. You can use # RL100650.

The Rightline bag is also waterproof. It's designed to keep water out. The fabric is waterproof, the seams are double-sealed and watertight, and even the zippers are built into the underside of the flaps instead of just hidden under the flap to help keep out moisture.
