Recommended Weight Distribution System Or Replacement Bracket For 2004 Jayco Jayflight 31 Ft Trailer
Question:
I have a 2010 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax and am buying a 2004 Jayco 31foot Jayflight travel trailer. I have 1,200 lbs sway bars from my previous trailer but the new one doesnt have the brackets mounted on the trailer so Ill need those. Wondered if you could help me find the best part for me? Thanks!

Based on what I can find on your 2004 Jayco Jayflight 31 foot travel trailer, the dry hitch weight is 704 lbs so the 1200 lbs bars may work great, but depending on your loaded tongue weight and any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2010 Silverado 2500, you may want a larger system for that total tongue weight. If you let me know the brand of your system, I can try to help you with the brackets needed for your old system and the ability to possibly swap out the bars if needed.
If you are interested in trading out your system, I recommend the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # RP66130. This system uses the dual cams and hot rolled trunnion spring bars to keep your trailer in line so it actively fights sway. This system is also set apart because it is able to be adjusted based on your specific preferences in ways other systems cannot offer. This system is rated for the total tongue weight of your loaded trailer and any cargo behind the rear axle of your truck to be in the range of 800 to 1500 lbs. Ideally, you want your total tongue weight to fall near the middle of that range, so this will be a good system for you.
This system does not include the hitch ball, so for a 2-5/16 inch ball I recommend # C40030.
