Troubleshooting Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller When Green Light Stays On

Question:

i have a 2015 toyota tundra. recently installed tekonsha voyager and harness. controller worked great now the led stays green even when using the manual slide on the controller and does NOT activate trailer brakes. Any ideas??

There can be a couple of reasons why the light is staying green and why the brakes are not being applied. First, it could be because the power has been set at or near minimum.

If that is not the case the problem is more than likely an issue on the trailer. Unhook the trailer and use a 12V incandescent circuit tester. Check the Blue wire coming from the back of the brake controller. If you are showing power when the manual slide is moved, and the light on the brake controller turns Red, then the issue is on the trailer. Check the brake wires on the trailer and look for a short or broken wire and fix as needed.
