Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer Setup with Tongue Weight of 635 lbs
Question:
We have a 26.6 ft. travel trailer with a hitch weight of 460lbs. The GW is 7,364. We pull it with a F150 that has a lift kit and air bags in the rear. On our truck we have a boat loader which carries a boat which weighs about 200 lbs and the boat loader is about 150lbs. We currently have equalizer bars I believe they are Curt but we get a little sway on our windy highways and have been considering purchasing a new weight distribution bar with sway control. They are also noisy. We have been considering purchasing Husky Center Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW. One of my concerns is that one of the reviews indicates you may need to remove the bars if backing up sharply. Our driveway is extremely tight and it is often a busy street. It requires a sharp angle to back up. Do you think this system would be a good option or is there another you would recommend?

For curbing the type of sway you are experiencing a Strait Line system is going to be your best option as it has the only sway control that actually works to actively prevent sway before it starts.
So your tongue weight is most likely going to be around 635 lbs so the best Strait Line for that is going to be the part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs. This system will allow you to back up but you will need to make sure you aren't jackknifing the trailer as all WD systems can't handle that. In those situations the bars would need to be removed.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
