Fit of Thule Helium Aero with Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2017 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Will the Thule Attachment system work with the Curt C-13200 pin hole location? I was told that there needs to be two pin holes on the right hand side of the receiver for the Thule attachment system to attach properly. I also understand that the Curt C-13200 will NOT work if my Highlander has a full size spare tire. Is this accurate? Regarding Trailer Wiring choices, how do I know if my Highlander has factory trailer module, or not?? You have choices for both set-ups on your website. Respectfully

The integrated hitch pin in the Thule Helium Pro # TH9043PRO is designed to install into the standard hitch pin hole of a trailer hitch receiver. If someone told you it needs to be inserted into the other hole of a hitch (Like a Draw-Tite hitch will have) then they're installing their bike rack incorrectly.
The Helium Pro fits just fine with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13200. However, you are correct that the Curt hitch will not fit with the full size spare tire. If you have a full size spare you'll need to relocate it or use the etrailer # DT65MR instead.
If your 2017 Toyota Highlander did not come with a trailer wiring connector then it's likely you don't have the factory tow package. You can also contact Toyota with your VIN and they can tell you. Another way is to check your fuse box. See the video I've attached of the wiring harness install on a 2015 Highlander around the 4:00 minute mark and it will show the fuse location. If you have the fuse then you have the tow package.
If you determine you do not have the tow package use # C56217 for the wiring harness. It includes the converter you'll need. If you do have the tow package the Highlander will already have the converter and you can use # 56042 instead.
