The towing vehicle has a 4 Flat Plug-white,green,yellow, and brown The trailer has 4 wires as follows - red, green,black, and white. Question / Which color wires from tow vehicle go to what color wires on trailer? Thx

Since trailer wiring colors can vary the best way to determine the correct wiring configuration to match your vehicle's 4-pole flat trailer connector is to do a simple test on the trailer. All you need to do is use a spare 12V battery or the (one in the vehicle) to apply power to each wire to see what function is activated.
