6 inch Drop Ball Mount Recommendation for Truck Towing Motorcycle Trailer  

Question:

My truck sits up high. The motorcycle trailer tongue is 13inch off ground. The bottom of my truck receiver where it goes in is 17inch off ground. The top of the square hole on receiver is 19. So do I need a 4inch ? What do you recommend?

When determining how much drop you need from a ball mount you have to measure from the top of the hitch opening to the ground and then from the bottom of the coupler lip on the trailer down to the ground when it is sitting level.

So since you measured from the bottom of the 2 inch hitch and got 17 inches that would mean you need a drop of 6 inches actually.

For a ball mount you then would want the part # 40346 which has a 6 inch drop.

For a hitch ball with a 2 inch diameter you then would need the part # 63845 or for a 2-5/16 inch part # 63840.
