Can the Thule Outbound Cargo Bag be Used on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 with a Sunroof
Question:
I am looking for a soft-top roof cargo bag for my 2016 Mazda CX-5 that has a sunroof and roof rails. Can this bag be used on a vehicle with a sunroof? Thanks!

The sunroof on your 2016 Mazda CX-5 is not meant to support any weight so I do not recommend putting a cargo bag directly on it. If there is enough metal on the roof to where the bag # TH868 does not set on the glass sunroof then it would be fine and you would just have to stay within the roof weight capacity limits.
If the bag cannot rest completely on the metal part of the roof then I recommend adding crossbars and a basket. The most cost-effective crossbars for your CX-5 with the side rails is Malone rack # MPG201. Then for a basket you can use Thule basket # TH859XT. At this point you could still use the cargo bag in the basket or you could put the cargo directly in the basket and use a cargo net, # C18200 to secure your cargo.
