Recommended 6 Inch Drop Shank For Reese SC Weight Distribution System

Question:

Good Morning: I currently have a Reese #66151 WDH with a #54970 draw bar. My trailer rides about four inches too high at the tongue. Looking at a replacement bar such as #3215 or ???? Your thoughts... Thanks

For your system, I recommend the Pro Series Weight Distribution Shank - 14" Long - 4-3/4" or 6-1/2" Drop - 1.5K TW # RP63971 that will give you a drop of 4-3/8 inches from the top of your hitch receiver opening. This drop shank is designed for this system.

For a larger drop without losing capacity, you can use the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123 which will give you a 8-1/4 inch drop but will also move the entire system much closer to your hitch receiver due to the shorter length of the shaft.
