The etrailer 24x60 Inch Folding Cargo Carrier, item # e98874, will clear the rear bumper of your 2011 GMC Terrain if the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest out part of the bumper is less than 9-1/2 inches.
You will need to measure to be sure, using a straight edge, like a yard stick, and a tape measure you can hold the straight edge against the rear bumper and then measure straight back to the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch. I am sure that you will be able to fold either of these carriers while it is installed on your Terrain. We have a video review showing this carrier folded on a similar vehicle, see link.
You may also want to consider the Cargo Carrier Light Kit, item # e98943-44LED, for this carrier if the gear you will be carrying will block the tail lights of your Terrain.
Another item that would be a good choice to secure either carrier to the vehicle is the DeadBolt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, item # e98880.
