The 4-Way flat that plugs into the trailer side connector is the most common connector used on trailers, so changes are that it will work. To be sure, you can contact the company and ask what kind of trailer connector your vehicle needs for the trailer lights. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference, along with a video showing a typical installation. I have also included a link to our wiring FAQ that shows and explains the functions of the various types of trailer connectors you may encounter.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118461, will fit the following vehicles, but not the 2005 Subaru Legacy.
2006 - 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca
1998 - 2008 Subaru Forester
2008 - 2011 Subaru Tribeca
1998 - 2004 Subaru Outback Wagon All Models
2005 - 2009 Subaru Outback Wagon except Sport
1996 - 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon
2006 - 2007 Subaru Legacy Wagon, excluding Outback
For a 2005 Subaru Legacy, you would need Wiring, # C59236. I have included a link to the installation details for typical installation for reference.
