Solution for Trailer Coupler to Fit Frame Channel that is 1-3/4 inches Wide
Question:
I have a 14 ft. Harbor Freight trailer. The tongue channel is 1 and 3/4 inches wide and 3inch tall. I need a 1 7/8 inch ball coupler. Do you have what I need? Thx,

We have a solution, but it's going to require you to use steel shims as none of our couplers are designed to fit trailer frames that are 1-3/4 inches wide. What you would want is the Fulton part # E112000340 which is a coupler designed for 1-7/8 inch hitch balls like you need but fits a 2 inch wide trailer frame.
With an 1/8 inch shim on either side of the trailer tongue this coupler would easily fit and work well.
