Correct Replacement Self-Adjusting Brake Assemblies for 6,000 Pound Axles
Question:
I have an RV with 2 - 6k axles and electric brakes. They arent self adjusting. Can I replace the brake assemblies with self adjusting brakes? What would be the number AKEBRK-7-SA ?. Also what wheel seal? These are Dexter EZ lube axles.

Expert Reply:
With 6,000 pound axles your trailer will use 12 inch brakes. So the # AKEBRK-7-SA will work great for you. These are self-adjusting but they'll need to be adjusted once on original setup. Both the left and right hand assemblies are included and marked to make it easier to install.
In order to determine which grease seal you need we'll need to know the bearing numbers or measurements. If you can provide them to me I can make a recommendation for you.
