Is there an adapter that allows using my fatory brake controller on a electric over hydrolic brake system on my trailer? I have a Dexter K71-651-00 actuator My Vehicle is a Ford F-450 with factory controller, Ford says this unit is not compatable with electric over hydrolic.

Dexter does not offer an adapter for their electric over hydraulic braking systems, but we have heard of people using the HydraStar Adapter, # HBA-CAM, without issue. This has not been officially tested by the manufacturers, so they cannot guarantee the compatibility. The only way we can guarantee that the Dexter actuator will work with your Ford F-450 is to bypass the factory controller and install an aftermarket controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic brake systems like the Prodigy P3, part # 90195.
To install this brake controller on your truck, you will also need a brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3034-P, and a Ford dealer will have to deactivate the factory controller to avoid any dash code errors. I've attached a tech bulletin regarding this issue.
