Recommended Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 29 Foot Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 29ft travel trailer I am looking to purchase a WD and Sway control system. I like the Strait Line as it helps to prevent sway. TW is around 900# and total wieght of trailer is 9k# fully loaded. I would like a system to fit my 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver on my truck without using a reducer sleeve to cut down on the noise/play. What do you suggest? Thanks!

It sounds like you've done some research and I like the conclusion. The Reese Strait-Line system is the very best in my opinion for controlling sway by actively fighting against it with spring trunnion bars that are hot rolled and the dual cam system.
For your total tongue weight, you will also want to account for any cargo weight in the back of your towing vehicle behind the rear axle in addition to your loaded trailer tongue weight. With this considered, you want a system that has that total tongue weight in the middle of its tongue weight range.
I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # RP66130 along with the hitch ball # # C40030 which is 2-5/16 inches. For the shank that fits a 2-1/2 inch receiver, I recommend the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank - 1-1/4" Drop, 5-1/4" Rise - 1,700 lbs TW # RP54976 or the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank - Trunnion Only - 5-3/4" Drop, 8-1/4" Rise - 1,700 lbs TW # RP54977 that will give you a larger drop or rise to allow you to tow level.
For security, I recommend a hitch lock like # TR63252 and a coupler lock like # ML389DAT.
