What is the Difference Between the Curt Q20 and Q24 Slider Hitches to Fit a 2016 Ford F-350

Question:

I will be towing a 16,000 5th wheel with a 2016 f-350 with a short bed. I see that part #C16545-16020 is actually cheaper than #C16530-16020. Why is this? Logically does it make sense to buy the heavier duty hitch and save money? How much heavier is the C16545 versus the C16530. Im hoping to be able to remove the hitch by myself. Thanks for any help.

Both the Curt Q-24 5th Wheel Hitch w/Slider for Ford Prep, # C16545-16020, and the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Ford Prep, # C16530-16020, will work well on your 2016 Ford -F350 Super Duty with the Ford prep package.

Both hitches will fit the Ford puck system and will provide 12 inches of slider travel front to back on your 6-3/4 foot bed.

The only real physical differences between the two hitches are weight capacity and actual weight of the hitch. The Q24 has a 24,000 lbs gross towing weight, higher than the Q20, but the Q24 does weigh a few pounds heavier at 281 lbs compared to the Q20 at 278 lbs.

As for pricing, the market dictates how our items are priced. All I can say is the Q24 must be a more avtive item and its price is adjusted for the market.
