4-Way and 7-Way Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2005 Toyota Tundra
Question:
I have a 2005 toyota tundra limited. I dont have the tow package. I would like to install a 4-way or 7-way for future brake controller. which product do I need? Can I still install the 7-way, but just not hook up for the brake controller?

You will need to start with a 4-way. For that you would want the universal # 119250KIT. You can stop at this point for now if all you need is a 4-way for the time being. Going to a 7-way requires starting with a 4-way so either way this will work well for just the 4-way or for providing the foundation for the 7-way.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. Once this is installed you will have both a 4-way and a 7-way at the rear of your 2005 Toyota Tundra.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to set up.
