Recommended Safety Chains for Use with Curt Ball Mount
Question:
I picked this up a few weeks ago Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount for 2inch Trailer Hitches. Its going in a 2016 f150. When I put this in where the hitch pin locks into truck the hitch sticks out pretty far and my tow chains r stretched to their limit. Is it possible to push hitch in all the way and drill a new hole in hitch for hitch pin. I could gain about 3 inches by doing this?

We cannot recommend drilling any holes at all into your hitch. Doing so will void the hitch warranty, potentially allow corrosion to invade the drilled area and also reduce the hitch tube capacity by some unknown amount. A better and safer solution is longer safety chains.
All of our safety chain/safety cable products are shown on the linked page, including items like # C19749 from Curt, which are longer than many at 60-inches.
