Disassembling and Replacing Fulton Magnum Series Trailer Jack

Question:

I have a Fulton trailer magnum series single wheel 1200# trailer jack. I left it under load in the extended position. The handle will no longer raise the barrel. I can,t turnthecrank enough topush the top roll pin out of the upper bevel gear. Jack screw is probably jammed. Plenty of grease. Is there another way to disassemble it to free it up? Also it isa bolt on model. How do I identify it to order anew one. Hole pattern is fixed. Thanks.

The roll pins that are used in jacks like the Fulton model on your trailer can be difficult to remove because they fit very tightly into place. I just recommend using a punch that is a bit smaller in diameter than the pin and then tap it with a hammer until it loosens up and can be taken out.

If you need to replace the unit, we do offer a nice selection of Fulton 1,200 pound trailer jacks that should be very similar to what you have. I recommend looking at the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack # FXP10W0301. This is a 1,200 pound jack that Fulton lists as a replacement for the Magnum Series, however the bolt pattern for the welded bracket on your unit may still be different than what this will use. The bolt for this jack is a 1/2 inch coarse threaded bolt that is 1-1/16 inches long. If this matches up with your existing unit, then you will not need a new mounting bracket. However if one is needed, you can use the Fulton Mounting Bracket # P9012-00.

I have attached a video demonstration of the Fulton Bolt-Thru Jack as well as a link that will take you to our available selection of 1,200 pound Fulton Trailer Jacks for you to look through.
